01 / CONTEXT

The challenge

An organization with several teams needs reliable connectivity without giving every device unrestricted access to every network resource.

02 / EXECUTION

My approach

  1. Designed a star-topology network for a hypothetical 200-user, five-department business.
  2. Selected Cisco switches, a FortiGate router/firewall, and UniFi wireless access points.
  3. Planned VLAN segmentation, VPN access, firewall controls, and reliable wired/wireless connectivity.

03 / EVIDENCE

Outcomes & contribution

  • Produced a comprehensive educational network design for five departments.
  • Mapped segmentation and secure remote-access requirements to appropriate technologies.
  • The architecture is an academic design, not evidence of a live production deployment.

04 / TAKEAWAY

What I learned

Network security improves when access segmentation is designed into the architecture, not added as an afterthought.

Sharing & confidentiality

Academic conceptual design; not a production customer deployment.
